Shoutlet is a service created and operated by Sway, Inc. to make it easier to communicate with audiences using Web 2.0 technologies. However, your privacy and that of your contact lists are essential. That's why we require you to validate and confirm certain information for yourself. This privacy statement intends to address questions as to what information is collected and how that information is used. As a database-driven website, Shoutlet necessarily collects certain information from users, including the collection of information to facilitate the services offered and to provide better services to the users. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for Shoutlet. The Information We Collect Shoutlet collects user-submitted information such as name, email address, telephone number, address, and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users that relate to Shoutlet services. Shoutlet may also collect other profile data you voluntarily provide, including but not limited to, gender, age, education and occupation. We may share aggregations of the provided information with Shoutlet's partners, affiliates, and suppliers to provide information and services that Shoutlet believes will be of value to you, but it will not share individual user information. Shoutlet logs certain information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the Shoutlet site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This information may be shared with third parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes and may be used to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer the Shoutlet site. Your IP address may be used to identify you and gather broad demographic information. We may set, access, and use cookies on your computer. Shoutlet uses cookies to store visitors' preferences and to record session information, for purposes such as ensuring that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and customizing newsletter, advertising, and content based on browser type and user profile information. We may link the information we store in cookies to personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. You must enable cookies from Shoutlet.com in order to use most functions on the Shoutlet site. Shoutlet may allow third-party advertisers that are presenting advertisements on some of our pages to set and access their cookies on your computer through the Shoutlet site. The use of cookies by those third parties is subject to their own privacy policies, not the Shoutlet Privacy Policy. Ads appearing on the Shoutlet site may be delivered to users by Shoutlet or one of our advertising partners. These cookies may allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time an online advertisement is sent. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Shoutlet and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers. Your credit card and/or other financial information may be collected in the ordering or user approval process. This information is held confidential and is only shared with third parties as necessary to provide Shoutlet's services (such as conveying information to a bank or credit card processor to actually complete a purchase transaction). Shoutlet does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register with Shoutlet. If you are under 13, please do not send any information to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 is allowed to provide any personal information to Shoutlet or be a user of Shoutlet's services. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at info@shoutlet.com. Sharing and Release of Information Shoutlet will release any and all information collected: (1) in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process that we have a good faith belief meets applicable legal standards, whether or not actually required by applicable law; (2) to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; and (3) when we believe in good faith it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety or property of any person, violations of Shoutlet's terms of use and policies, or as otherwise required by law. Shoutlet may transfer personal information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of Shoutlet or Sway, Inc. or substantially all of Sway, Inc.'s assets relating to Shoutlet. Links The Shoutlet site may contain links to other sites. Shoutlet is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such third-party sites. Third-Party Advertising Shoutlet may, on occasion, offer surveys or contests which ask for additional user information. This information is provided by you voluntarily and may be used to send you promotional material from Shoutlet or its partners. This information may be shared with partners, affiliates, and suppliers on an individual or on an aggregate basis. Changes to Privacy Policy In the future, Shoutlet may offer new and different programs that necessitate a change in the Privacy Policy. This policy will always reflect these changes and additions to Shoutlet. Changes to the Privacy Policy will be posted at the Shoutlet.com site and e-mailed to registered users.
